Car Maintenance Schedule by Mileage

What it does: enter your current mileage and we’ll show what service is due now, what’s coming up soon, and what’s further out — oil and filters, fluids, spark plugs, belts and more — based on common manufacturer intervals. Runs in your browser.

⚠️ These are general guideline intervals, not specific to your vehicle. Intervals vary by make, model, engine and oil type — always service your car according to its manufacturer’s schedule (your owner’s manual).

General guidance based on common manufacturer intervals — not specific to your vehicle. Always follow your owner’s manual / maintenance schedule; “severe service” (short trips, towing, dust, extreme heat/cold) shortens intervals. Items like brake fluid, coolant and battery are also time-based, not just mileage.

Maintenance schedule FAQ

How do I know what maintenance my car needs?

Enter your current odometer reading above. We map it against common manufacturer service intervals and show what’s due now, what’s coming up soon, and what’s further out — for oil, filters, fluids, spark plugs, belts and more.

How often should I change my engine oil?

Most modern engines on full synthetic run 7,500 mi / 12,000 km, but severe use (short trips, towing, dust, extreme temperatures) or older engines are often 5,000 mi / 8,000 km. Always check your owner’s manual.

What is “severe service”?

Severe service means frequent short trips, stop-and-go traffic, towing, dusty or extreme-temperature conditions. It shortens most intervals — many manufacturers publish a separate severe-service schedule.

Are these intervals exact for my car?

No — they’re general guidance based on common intervals across manufacturers. Your vehicle’s exact schedule is in the owner’s manual / maintenance booklet. Use this tool to get oriented, then confirm there.

Why is the timing belt so important?

On “interference” engines, a snapped timing belt lets the valves and pistons collide, causing major engine damage. Replace it strictly on schedule (often 90,000 mi / 150,000 km) — don’t wait for symptoms.
